In the Norwegian national curriculum reform «The Subject Renewal» (2020), the main objective has been to strengthen in depth-learning, understanding, critical thinking and reflection, and to develop subject curricula with more relevant content. The overall objective has been to provide a curriculum that prepares students for the future. Thus, in the reform digital competence has been significantly strengthened.
Digital competencies in subject curricula are diverse, including digital literacy, competence to develop digital technology (programming/coding), problem-solving methods in terms of computational thinking, a.o. The article describes this diversity and discusses its complexity and some consequences for implementation.
