ABSTRACT

From home to school, and vice versa? Digital education in France

For many years, the French education system has been offering digital training programs that change very often. The difficulty is great: faced with an object that is shared socially, and with which children and teenagers develop skills outside the classroom, how can we propose a training program adapted within the
school system?

In our contribution, we will look at what we know in France about the digital skills of our children and adolescents. Then, we will discuss how these skills are taken into account at school and how the French curriculum shapes digital education. Finally, we will propose ways to improve students’ digital skills in order to promote
equal opportunities.
